CHILI TEAMS FINAL RESULTS……….
Congratulations to all Realtor chili teams and sponsors. The chili pots were hot and the team spirit was smokin’ on Saturday at the 3rd Annual Northshore Realtor Chili Challenge. Brokers, agents, affiliates, sponsors, guests, family and friends from miles around all enjoyed 21 Realtor teams competing for the bragging rights and title of best northshore chili in 2009.
Portion of the proceeds went to help the housing needs of the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Associations of Retarded Citizens, STARC and TARC.
It was all in good fun as WWL-TV Newsman, Eric Paulson, called out the winners after five celebrity chefs tasted 21 bowls of chili !! The judges were all still smiling in the end as they frantically reached for their complimentary Rolaids!
Our distinguished chefs and food expert judges were:
Marc Benfatti, N’Tini’s Restaurant, Mandeville
Chris Bennings, Friends Coastal Restaurant, Madisonville
David Figueroa, Melinda’s Hot Sauce
Duke LoCicerio, Cafe Giovanni, New Orleans
David Woodward, Hilton Riverside Hotel, New Orleans
Each of the five (5) judges rated the chili based on AROMA, APPEARANCE, TEXTURE, TASTE, and AFTER-TASTE with a rating scale of 5 (highest), 4, 3 2, 1 (lowest ) in each category. Therefore, the highest score from one judge could have been 25 points.
Thanks to the chili teams, who all agreed to have their scores released. They now know who to beat next year. Remember, the beauty of chili is in the bud of the taster:

WHAT DID YOU THINK?
The 2009 Chili Planning Committee is having an evaluation meeting this Friday, November 13. We use this meeting to assess the event and then implement ideas to improve the following year’s program. If you have any constructive comments or suggestions about NABOR’s major fundraiser, please send them to patricia@nabors.org before Friday morning, November 13.
WON A PRIZE?
If you won one of the great raffle prizes at the chili fest, you can claim your gift at the NABOR Office this week. You don’t need your ticket stub because we have your name on the winning ticket that was pulled. Winners did not have to be present Saturday, so if you won a prize, we will be calling you.
GOING FISHING……
After buying a gazillion raffle tickets, Susan Kurzweg, was the lucky winner of the Blue Runner Fishing Trip for four in Lake Pontchartrain.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD….

Check back in next week’s newsletter for the lucky winning office!
AVOID THOSE UNSIGHTLY LATE FEES…...ONLY 4 MORE DAYS LEFT BEFORE DEADLINE!
NABOR 2010 Membership dues must be in the NABOR Office before November 15. Why November 15th? Because long ago, that’s the date that was written into the NABOR Charter and Bylaws.
NABOR local dues are still only $99.50 per year. Agents should return their invoice and payment directly to their broker, who will then forward everything on all agents to the NABOR Office.
After November 15, a $50 Late Fee is assessed. If Dues are not received by December 31, a $100 Late Fee is assessed and your membership is then terminated. Terminated members names are forwarded to GSREIN, where your MLS Service is interrupted. Reinstatement fees are then attached. Avoid all that commotion and send in your dues before November 15th. Remind your broker the package is not to be postmarked by November 15th, but it must actually be received by that date.
It’s great to have all of you back and so wonderful to meet all the many new members who have transferred over to NABOR. In this season of Thanksgiving, we are thankful to have such impressive professionals making up our growing NABOR family.
REMIND YOUR COLLEAUGUES THEY CAN STILL SAVE $50……
Between now and Christmas of 2009, the NABOR Office is waiving the regular $50 Transfer Fee for agents interested in transferring from another board to NABOR. Tell your colleagues. Happy Holidays!
Why should I pay a voluntary LARPAC contribution on my dues statement?
Your annual dues statement contains one way to make a voluntary contribution to the Louisiana REALTORS® Political Action Committee (LARPAC). These LARPAC funds are used to support political candidates who listen to REALTOR® positions on issues affecting your business. LARPAC also supports or works to defeat issues by getting involved in advocacy campaigns. Your contributions keep the Realtor political voice heard.
