The 2010 Awards Luncheon, being held on Thursday, March 18 at Tchefuencta Country Club, recognizes performance for the 2009 calendar year.

Brokers are encouraged to submit nominees for the Realtor of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the H.B. Breeding Award.
Tickets for the Awards Luncheon will be available soon. All are encouraged to not wait to the last minute to make your reservation.
The TP newspaper will be using whatever picture they have on file that appeared in their publications from the last three (3) years. Agents do not need to re-submit their picture CD again this year, UNLESS they want an updated photo to appear. Then, it must be clearly labeled with your name and company, including big, bold instructions on the envelope that reads “USE THIS UPDATED PHOTO”. As nice as it would be to have, the NABOR Office does not keep your photos on file or in our computer data base. Thank you for not calling the office just to check what picture we have of you.
Again, it is very important this year that you read all details in the official awards packets.
IN THE NEWS………..
If you know of something community minded that your office or another NABOR realtor member is involved in, please let us know. We want to share all the great things NABORS on the northshore community are involved in.
NABOR PLANS FOR 2010…
NABOR’s Board of Directors recently met in an intense strategic planning session to prioritize the focus for association leadership for this coming year. That brainstorm study was also followed up with a leadership training session in Baton Rouge, presented by Marcus Wally, a NAR Consultant out of Florida. This program was given for the benefit of boards around the state from the Louisiana Realtors Association in Baton Rouge. Thank you to all in our local general membership who also contributed to this future focus study by sending in your thoughts and constructive suggestions. A detailed report on the outcome of those gatherings is available. If interested, please call the NABOR Office.
Established priorities that were determined are that NABOR must concentrate on improved communications and services in our association. The members within NABOR and in the outside community need to know more of all the impressive programs and activities of our members. The Board remains committed to offering free continuing education and professional development opportunities to our members. At this time, all classes are free to NABOR members. There is a nominal fee for non-NABORS who would also like to earn their hours on the northshore. For member’s convenience, classes are offered in the eastern Slidell and central western areas of St. Tammany, as well as at SLU in the Hammond area. Our members are made up from the tri-parish area, so we continue to try to be easily accessible to all in those areas.
Thank you to Nicole Silva, who has chaired NABOR’s Education Committee for the past 2 years. Nicole did a great job enhancing scheduled programs and classes for our members.
Congratulations to George Sullivan, who has been recently appointed by the NABOR President to continue as the new Chair of the Education Committee. Feel free to contact George with suggestions on classes or to discuss if you are certified to teach. George can be reached at 345-0262.
AFFIliate PROMOTIONAL TAPING…
The second taping of NABOR’s Affiliate services will be on Thursday, February 11 from 8:00am -10:00am at the NABOR Office. All NABOR Affiliates in good standing are invited to prepare a short commercial that will be promoted on the NABOR web blog site. We did this once before last semester and Affiliates were so excited about appearing on NABOR’s website, they asked for another chance to promote their services.
Every Affiliate will be given a 12 minute session with NABOR’s resident film director, Steven Spielberg, also fondly known as Board Director, Marc Pellettiere, to tape a quick promotional commercial that we will post on the NABOR website. If you are an Affiliate, but not sure if you are eligible to participate in this free program, call the NABOR Office and we can help update your association status.
