NEW 2010 BOARD OF DIRECTORS…..
Congratulations to the new NABOR Board of Directors who will take office at the Installation Reception on Thursday, January 28, 2010, 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Cash Bar. LaProvence Restaurant in Lacombe. Please note we are following a slightly different format this year with the evening being a two-hour reception serving heavy Hor d’Oeuvres instead of the more formal seated full meal, as served in the past. Many folks have asked for a shorter, more casual venue where agents, brokers and affiliates can mingle about more that evening. Special recognition will be given to all Affiliate Sponsors of the Board of Directors 2010 Installation Reception.
Advance Reservations Only. No walk-in tickets will be available at the door that night. Tickets are $ 45 per reservation, if made before January 20, 2010, and then $ 55 per reservation after January 20th. Thank you for understanding that the January 20th ticket deadline will be strictly applied this year. Any reservations that come in after January 20th will have to be at the $55 level. Tickets are available by check, Visa or MasterCard.
Guest Reservation and Sponsor Forms were recently sent to all brokers, agents and affiliates. Please use that to make your reservations. COMMUNITY SERVICE….
The NABOR Association will be making a presentation of proceeds from the recent Northshore Realtor Chili Challenge to the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Associations of Retarded Citizens, STARC and TARC, at the NABOR Office, on Thursday, January 21 at 2:30pm. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s major fundraiser will help the housing needs of the clients in these tremendous organizations.
THANK YOU DUES RENEWALS…..
Thank you to all members who got their dues in before the November 15, 2009 deadline. You are now paid up until the end of 2010! This was your annual local association, state and national dues. For all others, the $50 late fee is now in effect until December 31. Please understand this late fee is following association bylaws and policies. This is not something the office enjoys having to collect.
If Dues are not received by December 31, 2009, a $100 Late Fee is assessed and your membership is then terminated. Terminated member names are forwarded to GSREIN, where your MLS Service is interrupted. Reinstatement fees are then also attached.
It’s great to have all of you back and so wonderful to meet all the many new members who have transferred over. Welcome, NABOR!

After the New Year, NABOR will be having a second taping of all our current Affiliates who are interested in promoting their companies and services on the NABOR website. Marc is NABOR’s resident Steven Spielberg who will be directing the taping sessions!
COME ON OVER TO OUR SIDE ……
Only 11 days left until Santa comes and for transferring over to join the Northshore Area Board of Realtors. Between now and Christmas of 2009, the NABOR Office is waiving the regular Transfer Fee for agents interested in joining NABOR from another board. Tell your colleagues. Happy Holidays!
AFTER THE NEW YEAR…..
After the New Year, NABOR will also be scheduling more Rookie Round Tables and Broker Councils. These are great opportunities for new agents to gather to share thoughts and concerns as they develop their new business. On other days, Brokers or representatives from every agency are invited to get together to also share ideas and issues that can help everyone involved in the real estate industry.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT……

INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW…..
The NABOR Education Committee wants to know what continuing-ed courses you would like to see offered in 2010. Nicole Silva, nicolesilva@kw.com and George Sullivan, sullivange@yahoo.com, are chairs of the NABOR Education Committee. Please share your thoughts with us about desired courses. Classes are being scheduled now for the first quarter of 2010.
NEW AGENT ORIENTATION CLASSES FOR 2010….
The first New Agent Orientation Class for 2010 is January 25. The schedule for NABOR’s 2010 NEW AGENT ORIENTATION CLASSES will remain at 9:00am on the 3rd Monday morning of the month, except when scheduling conflicts arise.
Please note the 2010 New Agent Orientation Class Dates: Monday, January 25, February 22, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18 and December 6.
New agents should arrive at 8:50am. No walk-ins can come into the new agent orientation class. Advanced application is required. The new agent’s applications, fees and all other required documents are always due the Wednesday before the class date. Forms are available on www.nabors.org.
Agents must submit all their information with full payments before the class.
INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT LARPAC?
Norman Morris, Senior VP Government Affairs, Louisiana Realtors Association, will be making a presentation to the NABOR Board of Directors, about LARPAC on Thursday, February 18, at 3:00pm, at the NABOR Office.

The NABOR Office will be closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1. Telephone messages are always checked, even when the office is closed, so if you have an association emergency, please be sure to leave your name and number, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
LAST CALL…..
If you still need to pay your 2010 Dues, please mail or drop it off at the NABOR Office. If the office is closed when you come, there is a mail slot on the side window for your convenience. Please remember, your $50 late fee must be included before December 31. After New Year’s, the late fee is $100.
