We are at a crossroads in the real estate industry. With the dawning of the New Year, we should all be thinking about how we do business in this new time. Our market is changing and we need to change with it. Our goal at NABOR this year will be to help you make the changes you need to consider in order to remain competitive and successful in the market place. Your professional association can help do this through continuing education and professional development offered at NABOR. Make your reservations now for the 2010 Board of Director’s Installation Reception on Thursday, January 28, 2010, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, at the beautiful La Provence Restaurant in Lacombe.
Enjoy Chef John Besh’s Signature Hors d’ Oeuvres while networking with your NABOR Board of Directors, Brokers, Agents, Friends, and with special Affiliate introductions! Please note we are following a slightly different format this year with the evening being a two-hour reception with cocktails and canapés instead of the more formal, seated full meal, as served in the past. Many folks have asked for a shorter, more casual venue where agents, brokers and affiliates can network more easily with all guests. Special recognition will be given to that evening’s Affiliate Sponsors of the Board of Directors 2010 Installation.
Again, this special event is Thursday, January 28, 2010, 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Cash Bar.
Advance Reservations Only. We extend every effort to always have nice events in interesting places, while keeping prices the same or down from years past. Tickets are $ 45 per reservation, if made before January 20, 2010, and then $ 55 per reservation after January 20th. Thank you for understanding that the January 20th ticket deadline has to be adhered to this year. Any reservations that are received after January 20th (not postmarked by) will have to be at the $55 level. Tickets are available by check, Visa or MasterCard.

2010 DUES RENEWALS…..
Names of agents who have not renewed their 2010 association dues are being forwarded to all brokers and then on to GSREIN. Your MLS service is then ready for interruption. If you need assistance determining your current renewal status, please call the NABOR Office this week.
Thank you to all members who got their dues in before the November 15, 2009 deadline. You are now paid up until the end of 2010 with your annual local association, state and national dues. For all others, the $100 late fee went into effect on January 1, 2010. Please understand this late fee is following association bylaws and policies. This is not something the office enjoys having to collect. Also, notice has always been given on membership applications that agents sign and in various other notices, that dues are non-refundable.

BROKER’S COUNCIL….
All brokers or office managers are invited to NABOR’s first Broker’s Council of the year on Thursday, February 4 at the NABOR Office, 8:30am-9:30am. This gathering is a great opportunity for brokers to share issues and concerns.
NEW AGENT ORIENTATION CLASSES FOR 2010….
The next New Agent Orientation Class is Monday, January 2. The remaining schedule for the year is classes begin at 9:00am on the 3rd Monday morning of the month, except when scheduling conflicts arise. Please note the 2010 New Agent Orientation Class Dates: Monday, January 25 , February 22, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18 and December 6.
New agents should arrive at 8:50am. Please advise your new agents that they must register in advance. No walk-ins can come into the new agent orientation class. The new agent’s applications, fees, copies of driver’s and real estate licenses and all other required documents are always due the Wednesday before the class date. Membership applications are available on www.nabors.org.
Let us help you. If your new agents are not sure of all the required documents they need to send in, have them call the NABOR Office and we will be happy to walk them through the process.
