A WORD FROM YOUR NABOR PRESIDENT…
Hello NABORS……… As the market changes, we must make sure that we as REALTORS are prepared for those changes. We hear a lot of pros and cons about the market and where it will be in six months or a year. The problem is, we are working now, not six months from now.
There are several factors that affect your business, but you are the one doing the controlling and reacting to whatever happens. I can’t say enough about attitude. You must be positive today more than ever. I really like the old saying that “attitude determines your altitude.” There are always people who want to buy or sell. Your job is to attract those people to you and the best way to do that is to believe in yourself. Next, always put your client’s interest first. As long as you use these two principles, the business will come to you.
Thank you for all you do to help promote our communities and our way of life. We have a lot to be thankful for here on the Northshore. Just remember…Always be a good NABOR!

Louisiana Realtors Association is looking for real estate professionals who are interested in getting involved in a Young Professionals Committee in the state association. This committee is defining “young” as anyone under 40 years old. Luncheon tickets purchased BEFORE TOMORROW, TUESDAY, MARCH 9, can save $10. We must confirm our guests count by tomorrow, so there is still a little time to make your reservations at a reduced price. The luncheon is Thursday, March 18, at Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington.
Menu for the Sales Awards luncheon at the beautiful Tchefuncta Country Club is: Founder’s Room Salad: Mixed Greens with Artichoke Hearts, Mushrooms, Roma Tomatoes and Creole Mustard Vinaigrette, Herb Roasted Chicken with Sundried Tomatoes over Penne Pasta, Shiitake Mushrooms, Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake, Rolls & Butter, Iced Tea and Coffee.
Doors open at 11:30am with a cash bar. Guests will only be allowed in beginning at 11:30am. Lunch will be served and the awards program will begin at 12:15pm. Tickets are only $27 per guest, if made before March 9 or $37 per guest, if received after March 9. Non-NABOR guests are also welcome to attend at $37 per ticket. Everyone attending the event must have a paid ticket.
Reservations forms are available on www.nabors.org. The ballroom will be set with round tables of eight (8). Only if a company buys an entire table (8 tickets) will that table be reserved in the company’s name. All others are non-reserved seating and available upon your arrival.

NABOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES…………
The NABOR Education Committee continues to hold continuing- ed classes in the eastern and central areas of St. Tammany Parish, as well as in the Hammond area.
A few more seats are still available for the upcoming March 25th class. Earn 4 continuing-ed credit hours – Louisiana Real Estate License Law, 2010 Mandatory Class, Thursday, March 25, Tchefuncta Country Club, #2 Country Club Pk, Covington, LA 70433, off Hwy 21, 12:00pm – 4:00pm. Class will be taught by Vance Ott of Bayou Title.
Free for NABOR members. You must register with Bayou Title in advance. Thank you for understanding that if you reserve a seat at the class, but do not show-up without canceling 24 hours in advance, there is a $20 assessment fee. Non-NABORS are welcome to attend the class for $20.

CONTINUING-EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS….
Question: What are the requirements for continuing education credit for license renewal?
Answer: Louisiana Real Estate Commission (LREC) is the body responsible for license renewal and enforcement of continuing education credit for licensees. You can read more on www.lrec.state.la.us
NEW NABOR AGENT ORIENTATION CLASSES….
Next new agent class is next Monday, March 15. Future classes are April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18 and December 6. All paperwork and fees must be in the Wednesday before the class.
LEGAL HOTLINE….
The Louisiana REALTORS Legal Hotline allows brokers to receive answers to questions pertaining to real estate law and compliance issues. Brokers simply submit their questions using the Legal Hotline Form. Questions are then referred to the appropriate legal counsel and a response is forwarded to brokers within two business days. This valuable member service allows access to legal advice without incurring hourly lawyer fees. Questions received through the Hotline allow Louisiana REALTORS to track issues of concern to its members and develop programs and services to address them. Call LR at 1-800-266-8538.
TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT….
LR has assembled a comprehensive list of free technical support sites and databases for various hardware/software and other REALTOR technology. Your state association is continually expanding this list in order to provide a "one stop" online technology solution database for REALTOR members.
