ITS SAINTS, VALENTINE, MARDI GRAS AND NABOR AWARDS SEASON……
Only 10 more days to get completed awards applications in. Brokers are working on completing their awards applications to honor all the great salespersons in their office for the 2009 production year. Applications are due in to the NABOR Office before 12 noon on February 18. The Awards Committee will be processing all applications on February 19 and can not review any packets submitted after February 18. Only hardcopy completed application forms should be returned to the NABOR Office. Do not email or FAX any information back. Please be sure you have all forms returned in your envelope.
REMEMBER….there are several important revisions in this year’s criteria. Be sure to read the entire packet before submitting your applications. In particular, the GCC levels have been adjusted for this year.

Brokers are encouraged to submit nominees for the Realtor of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the H.B. Breeding Award. Many agents are qualified to be nominated for these impressive awards. It’s the broker’s responsibility to acknowledge the talented agents in their firm.

Brokers are begged to please follow all directions for submitting their awards packets. This includes returning all applicable forms that were in your original Awards Criteria Packets. Not sending everything in together under the requested guidelines will cause a delay in processing your company’s awards.

AWARD WINNING LUNCHEON….
A delicious gourmet meal is being prepared for NABOR for the annual sales awards luncheon by Executive Chef Sammy at the beautiful Tchefuncta Country Club: Founder’s Room Salad: Mixed Greens with Artichoke Hearts, Mushrooms,Roma Tomatoes and Creole Mustard Vinaigrette, Herb Roasted Chicken with Sundried Tomatoes over Penne Pasta, Shiitake Mushrooms, Chocolate Ganache Cheesecake, Rolls & Butter, Iced Tea and Coffee.
SAVE $10 and make your reservation now, before March 9, for the upcoming Sales Awards Luncheon being held on Thursday, March 18, at Tchefuncta Country Club in
Doors open at 11:30am with a cash bar. Lunch is served and the awards program begins at 12:15pm. Tickets are only $27 per guest, if made before March 9 or $37 per guest, if received after March 9. Non-NABOR guests are also welcome to attend at $37 per ticket. Thank you for understanding that this increase ticket price after March 9 has to be strictly adhered to. This means your paid reservation must actually be in the NABOR Office by March 9, and not just advise us that the check is in the mail or on the way! All people attending must have a paid reservation.
Lunch reservation forms will be available on www.nabors.org. Please don’t risk seating problems by waiting until the last minute to make your reservations. The ballroom will be set with round tables of eight (8). Only if a company buys an entire table (8 tickets) will that table be reserved in the company’s name. All other non-reserved seating is open and subject to availability upon your arrival. Sorry, but we can not reserve one special seat next to one special person at a particular table for all other individuals. Get there at 11:30am and get a good table!
As we did last year, a professional photographer will be on hand to capture all our impressive winners. Take advantage of this great photographer and get your company group together to have a picture taken. Feel free to approach Phillip Colwart, the photographer, and ask him to take a picture of you and/or your gang while everyone’s all dressed up nice. Photos will then be posted online. If you like the way the picture came out, you can order copies. If you don’t care for the results, there is no obligation to buy any pictures. That’s a nice deal!!
AWARD WINNING SMILE….
Concerning agent’s newspaper photos for awards: Brokers are asked to please follow all directions when submitting pictures in the Awards Applications.
Procedures about submitting the pictures were previously mentioned in the January 26 and February 2 issues of this NABOR-ENEWS and in detail in the official awards packets, page 6, #5. Please refer.
The TP newspaper will be using whatever picture they have on file of you that appeared in their publication from within the last three (3) years. Agents do not need to re-submit their picture CD again this year, UNLESS they want an updated photo to appear. BUT, if you do submit a new picture, it must be clearly labeled in a sleeve with your name and company, including big, bold instructions on the outside envelope that reads “USE THIS UPDATED PHOTO”.
Sorry for repeating myself, but……..If you are submitting a new picture, the disc MUST BE IN A CLEARLY MARKED SLEEVE THAT IS WRITTEN USE THIS UPDATED PHOTO. I am told those exact words must appear. These instructions must be followed for the TP newspaper to understand the correct photo to use. Tip: It’s generally not a great idea to ever use a paper clip or try to staple (yes, someone tried that) directly on to a CD. This damages the CD. Use a paper or plastic sleeve or other protective enclosure.
If a disc is submitted without the exact notation clearly marked, the newspaper will probably use the old picture. Some CD’s were sent in this way. Once pictures are in the final layout, it’s too late to make any changes. If you sent in a CD any other way, please resend now in the corrected format.

This year, sponsors will also have a space to set up an information station, where agents can pick up valuable promotional literature about their company. AFFIliate PROMOTIONAL TAPING again this week…
The second taping of NABOR’s Affiliate services will be this Thursday, February 11 from 8:00am -10:00am at the NABOR Office. All NABOR Affiliates in good standing are invited to prepare a short commercial that will be promoted on the NABOR web blog site.
Every Affiliate will be given a 12 minute session with Board Director, Marc Pellettiere, to tape a quick promotional commercial that we will post on the NABOR website. Please come prepared knowing what you want to say before the camera. If you have questions about the format or actual taping, please call Marc at 867-8670.

NEW AGENT ORIENTATION CLASSES FOR 2010….
New agent orientation classes are always held at 9:00am on Monday mornings: February 22, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20, October 18 and December 6. Agents should arrive by 8:50am. All paperwork must be in by the Wednesday before the class.
NEW FORMS….
All brokers and agents are asked to please discard any old NABOR Application or Transfer Forms you may still have on hand. Only the revised forms of 2/3/2010 should be used and can be accepted. Look for the revision date in the lower right corner of the last page of the forms. The revised forms do not ask for your full Social Security or any bank account numbers. These news forms are posted on www.nabors.org.

Please be assured that the NABOR Office takes every precaution to respect and protect your privacy concerning financial, business and any other personal information that passes through this office. The NABOR Office has a very small 2 ½ person professional staff, so any credit card, bank or check information you send in is guarded. Any credit card numbers or other financial information is always shredded.

IT’S AWARDS SEASON……
Brokers are working on completing their awards packets to honor all the great salespersons in their office for the 2009 production year. All criteria packets for the 2010 Sales Award Recognition Program were mailed via U.S.Mail last week. If you did not receive a packet by now, please do not wait any longer. Call the NABOR Office right away, 892-5200 and another one will be sent out. Only 17 more days to get them all back in, before 12 noon on February 18. The Awards Committee can not review any packets submitted after February 18.

Excerpt from this year’s awards criteria….
Award Categories:
Individual or Team
1. If an agent has a licensed assistant, then that agent is classified as a TEAM. If an agent has had a licensed assistant anytime during the awards year, then that agent is classified as a TEAM.
2. An agent who has an unlicensed assistant, who performs ministerial acts, as defined by the LREC, shall be classified as an INDIVIDUAL.
3. Anyone wishing to be recognized by their peers and the public as a team must indicate TEAM on the Current Broker Verification Form.
4. Supportive documentation may be required on an individual basis.
5. Decisions of the Awards Committee are final.
Residential or Commercial
1. Applicants may choose to be recognized in both residential and commercial production if their GCC qualifies in both.
2. In order for a residential agent to count commercial production towards total production, he/she must have over 50% of his/her GCC in residential production. The same is true for commercial agents counting residential production towards commercial GCC. Residential credit can be allowed for units that do not exceed 4 families.
1. Applicants may be recognized as Individuals or Teams as they indicate by the new criteria on the Current Broker Verification Form.
2. GCC levels are different for Individuals and Team applicants, as indicated below.

STARC AND TARC REQUESTS…..
If you have any new and/or very well conditioned house furnishings for the special clients of the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Associations of Retarded Citizens, they can use your help. These organizations are looking for bed linens, blankets, towels, kitchen utensils, and general household goods and supplies to help the residents living in their group homes. Please call STARC 624-3493 or in Hammond, TARC 320-0724, for more donation information. The NABOR Office is not collecting these goods at the office. All donations must go directly to the STARC or TARC offices.
